Celebrating Families, The Guidance Center's large Gala fundraiser includes live and silent auctions, a sit-down dinner, cocktail hour, client speakers and depends on a 50 person volunteer workforce. This year, the event will be held on April 26, 2012. The Special Events Intern will be responsible for:
• Coordination and management of the live and silent auctions, including item solicitation, creative coordination of displays, detailed tracking in File Maker database and correspondence with auction-item donors
• Coordination of event volunteers
This is a fantastic, hands-on position for a detail-oriented, organized and creative person, looking for experience with nonprofits and/or in the field of special events. The Special Events Intern will be working with a four person Development team and will be an active participant in other event-related activities as needed and deemed appropriate.
The hours of this position are 10 hours/wk until March 30, 2012. After which hours will increase to 15-25 hours/wk. Monday – Friday, flexible daytime hours. Intern must be available on April 26, 2012 from 12-10pm for the Celebrating Families Gala event in Harvard Square.
This is a paid internship, between $7-10/hour depending on experience.
