Information Services Assistant/Analyst 1102-29

Responsibilities:

Support various client- and web-based applications, including but not limited to:

  • Perform user requirements analysis
  • Convert requirements to application specification
  • Convert specifications into database structures
  • Convert specifications into reusable component design
  • Document, implement, analyze, and modify applications
  • Test (unit, module, and integration) applications to ensure they meet requirements
  • Make improvements or enhancements to applications
  • Coordinate with staff to support new development work

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree preferred with specialization in either computer science or equivalent
  • Approximately 3 to 5 years of experience developing web-based applications using .Net
  • Familiarity with and/or interest in social policy research
  • Proficiency with a range of software and coding environments
    • Required experience in ASP.net, VB.net, or C#
    • Required experience working with SQL Server stored procedures, DDL, DML
    • Working knowledge of web services & class libraries (OOPs) preferred (WCF, WPF, WF a plus)
    • Working knowledge of JavaScript is a must, VBA a plus
    • Experience working with SharePoint and or Microsoft Dynamics CRM preferred
  • Systematic approach to troubleshooting, problem-solving, debugging, preferably with good documentation skills
  • Verbal communication skills; proficiency in preparing understandable technical documentation; ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Comfortable working both in teams and independently
  • Full project life cycle (SDLC) experience preferred
