Group Teacher (2 Positions) Early Childhood (EHS, HS, UPK

Job Summary: Has primary responsibility for classroom operation, including planning, carrying out activities, maintaining the classroom environment, supervising children, conducting parent/teacher conferences; supervising classroom volunteers; may also supervise teacher assistant.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Supervising the planning and execution of a program to provide quality learning experiences for children in a HS/DC/UPK program.
  • Responsibility for planning appropriate arrangement in classroom and modify the classroom to respond to individual children's needs.
  • Supervising all children's indoor and outdoor activities while incorporating positive guidance.
  • Planning the use of community resources to enrich the educational content of the program.
  • Implementing sound classroom activities and educational practices appropriate to the age and development of children in order to prepare for positive learning experiences.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with parents and families of children served.
  • Maintaining good relationships with colleagues and administrators.
  • Developing a system for quality observations and assessments of children and programming.
  • Develop and enhance a program of sound educational goals.
  • Other related duties, as assigned, consistent with above.

Qualifications:

v Bachelor's Degree in Early Education or related field

v At least one year experience working with children ages 0-5 and families

v Ability to read and write English

v Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules and policy and procedures manuals

v Ability to lift a child 35 – 40 pounds

v Successful completion of background checks is required upon hire
