Yad Chessed provides ongoing and emergency financial assistance, as well as interest-free loans, to Boston-area Jews in need who fall through the cracks of the Jewish community and general social services system. All of Yad Chessed's clients are in difficulty, and all of its resources are donations.
Yad Chessed is looking for a committed, passionate, and dynamic Executive Director with demonstrated leadership ability and fundraising skills, who will build on 20 years of success to take the organization to the next level, while honoring its fundamental ethic of empathy and respect for clients' dignity.
The Executive Director will
- Extend Yad Chessed's reach to help more Jewish families in need
- Raise Yad Chessed's profile in the community
- Maintain and build on relationships with existing donors
- Attract major donors and foundations to support Yad Chessed
- Run all aspects of Yad Chessed's ongoing operations
The ideal candidate will be a capable manager who has direct experience running an organization, is a skilled communicator, and has several years' experience working in the Jewish community. Knowledge of poverty or another social service area is also desirable.
The position requires occasional evening and weekend hours and allows for some flexibility.
