Lead Video Editor

UNICEF NYHQ - Division of Communications is in need of consultant services to:

  • Edit video and web material as needed for UNICEF priority communications.
  • Responsible for high end advocacy videos
  • Lead editor for high profile video products
  • Ability to direct high profile video shoots
  • Undertake UNICEF video production and post-production, including logging and digitizing source tapes, outputting final cuts to tape and web clips, audio editing and managing media for Final Cut Pro, After FX, Pro Tools and related technologies
  • Work on UNICEF NYHQ premises; all equipment and supplies will be provided to undertake high quality daily UNICEF video editing and related post-production and
  • To liaise with the IBIS Senior Producer to assist other video editors as needed.

Responsibilities:

VIDEO PRODUCTION

  • Assist on video shoots as needed.
  • Assist in facilitating equipment repairs.

POST PRODUCTION

  • Video Editing
  • Audio Editing
  • Edit video and web material as needed
  • Output final cuts to tape and web clips
  • Sound mix
  • Log and digitize source tapes as needed
  • Make dubs
  • Assist producer in liaising with external production houses and distribution outlets
  • Manage media programmes and related software
  • Back up the video librarian as needed
  • Provide source tapes as required
  • Troubleshoot technical problems
  • May be asked to work on weekends
  • May be asked to travel

Qualifications or specialized knowledge/ experience required:

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional video and audio editing experience
  • Skilled in shooting and sound recording
  • Skilled in the following industry tools: Final Cut Pro, After FX and Pro Tools
  • Experience in digitizing and video streaming for the web and other multimedia services
  • Ability to operate the video production, archiving, and editing equipment
  • Ability to edit materials from a culturally sensitive perspective
  • Willingness to work in a multi-cultural environment in a cooperative and professional manner, including observance of UNICEF product clearance procedures
  • Professional work ethic, integrity, and initiative
  • Knowledge of international development issues a plus
