Spanish Website Coordinator

UNICEF NYHQ-Division of Communications is in need of a Spanish Website Coordinator who will be responsible for the maintenance of the UNICEF global site in Spanish and creation of any other products to be used on the site that have a Spanish language component or version. This person will post translated content on the Spanish web site and he or she will also maintain Spanish content, the homepage and will make daily updates to the Spanish web site.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily updates to Spanish web site including modules dealing with the MTSP (Young child survival and development, Basic education and gender equality, HIV/AIDS and children, Child protection from violence, exploitation and abuse, and Policy advocacy and partnerships for children's rights)
  • Utilize Content Management System (RedDot); Translation Editor to post new content, and edit and maintain of Home Page to UNICEF specifications
  • Translation support for other IBIS teams
  • Identify stories and content that would be relevant for Spanish speaking audiences.
  • Provide quality control of Spanish products (outsourced materials, videos, multimedia, etc)
  • Respond in a timely fashion to inquiries done through the language web sites via email
  • May be asked to work on weekends; May be required to travel.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications or specialized knowledge/ experience required:

  • Fluent in Spanish, have a good management of English and good translation skills.
  • Proficient in all aspects of web page production (knowledge of HTML), including image optimization for the web using Adobe Photoshop, and content management experience is an asset.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated; able to work efficiently under tight deadlines, and possess good communication skills.
  • Web and graphic design experience are a plus.
