These tools, provided free to educators and schools, are designed to help students develop, through interactivity, a more effective and efficient understanding of challenging concepts that are integral to the curriculum.

It focuses primarily on the skills critical to information literacy.

About the Role

This past year, PLML was unable to successfully make use of its Quickbooks software and discovered that it needs the help of someone who knows how to set it up and organize its accounts.

Thus, it is seeking the help of a part-time bookkeeper to accomplish the following critical tasks:

  • Configure (initial setup) of Quickbooks 2010
  • Orgnanize accounts and categories
  • Enter and recondile 2010 data
  • Ongoing, enter and reconcile the 2011 data

  • Assist, as needed, with our nonprofit filings

Initially, PLML expects there to be about 40 hours of F/T work to configure and rebuild our 2010 books, with the data we have on-hand (invoices, spreadsheet of transactions). Afterward, it anticipates quarterly work to help ensure that the books are up-to-date and accurate. It also anticipates that the bookkeeper will need to assist with required reports and filings.

"Selamat pagi!"

" Ya ..saya salah , kamu benar , saya pasti salah !"

" Sekarang aku mau Tanya , kenapa kamu tidak lepas saja sinuwun..biarkan lewat, wong kamu tahu siapa dia , ngerti nggak kowe sopo sinuwun?"

" Siap pak !" Royadin menjawab datar.

"Bersama keluargamu semua, dibawa!" pernyataan komisaris mengejutkan , untuk apa bawa keluarga ketepi pekalongan selatan , ini hanya merepotkan diri saja.

"Saya sanggup setiap hari pakai sepeda pak komandan, semua keluarga biar tetap di rumah sekarang !" Brigadir Royadin menawar.

Ditanda tangani sri sultan hamengkubuwono IX.

Tangan brigadir Royadin bergetar , namun ia segera menemukan jawabannya.

Hormat amat sangat kepadamu Pak Royadin, Sang Polisi sejati .

Environmental Fellowship - Environment California

Posted by: Work for Progress

Sacramento, California, United States

Work for a Cleaner, Greener, Healthier Future

From the BP disaster in the Gulf to the climate crisis facing our planet, the need to confront big environmental challenges has never been clearer. If you are looking for the opportunity, training and experience to make a powerful and long-lasting impact on the policies that will shape our energy future, the quality of the air we breathe and the water we drink, and the fate of the places we love, check out Environment America's Fellowship Program.

Repowering America

We know we need to kick the nation's addiction to dirty energy, and we need to get started today. America has the know-how and the technology to generate 100 percent of our electricity from clean sources. We can cut our oil dependence dramatically within the next generation, and make our buildings, cars and appliances substantially more energy efficient. And we can slash global warming pollution in the process. Learn more at http://www.EnvironmentAmerica.org/new-energy-future.

But the oil and coal industries—as well as other powerful interests—are standing in the way of change. They have deep pockets and incredible influence over our decision-makers across the country and in Washington, D.C., and they'll stop at little to maintain business as usual.

That's where Environment America comes in.

Winning real changes in states across the country

With more than 100 professional staff and 1 million members, activists and allies in 29 states and Washington, D.C., we make the case and build the support necessary to overcome obstacles and win real results for the environment. We make changes at the state level and use them to build momentum for regional and national solutions to America's biggest environmental problems.

Each year, Environment America hires passionate, talented and committed recent college graduates to join our two year Fellowship Program. Over the last decade, candidates accepted into our Fellowship Program have worked side-by-side with our most experienced advocates and organizers to make a real difference for the environment.

For example, over the years dozens of fellows have helped persuade decision-makers in 14 states to increase the fuel efficiency of our cars and trucks. Building on those policies, President Obama announced similar changes across the nation. Now we're on track to have new cars that get at least 40 miles per gallon and plug-in hybrids that get up to 150 miles per gallon on the road. Learn more about the changes we've made across the country at http://www.EnvironmentAmerica.org/results.

But it's going to take a lot more victories like this to end our addiction to oil, solve the climate crisis, and overcome our remaining environmental challenges. We need to keep documenting the problems and making the case for smart, effective solutions. We need to run more campaigns to inform the public and mobilize supporters to take action. We need to build broader and stronger coalitions. We need to train and develop more organizers, advocates and other leaders to keep building the public support that can sweep past the opposition and create a cleaner, greener, healthier future.

That's where you come in.

You'll learn how to run winning campaigns for the environment

If you're hired, the Fellowship Program will give you the training you need and put you in the right place at the right time, so you can roll up your sleeves and make a difference right away.

You'll work with experienced advocates and organizers to make an immediate impact

You'll help plan, run and win campaigns. You'll learn how to research and identify effective solutions to critical environmental problems and how to build and mobilize powerful constituencies to get behind your campaign. You'll lobby lawmakers, publish opinion pieces in major newspapers and on key websites, set up and speak at news conferences, organize town hall meetings and rallies, and run citizen outreach campaigns to educate the public, build membership and raise money for our work. You'll even learn to recruit future fellows to join Environment America staff.

In your second year, you'll polish your skills and take on even more responsibility.

You'll participate in classroom-style trainings throughout the year, and learn even more through hands-on experience. You'll work alongside our current staff—some of the nation's top environmental advocates and organizers—and get guidance and feedback from your staff director. Learn more about the top advocates and organizers who supervise Environment America fellows at http://www.EnvironmentAmerica.org/jobs/watch-staff-profiles.

The Fellowship is only the beginning

Through the Fellowship Program, you will develop relationships with lawmakers and community leaders, earn media coverage for important environmental issues, raise funds, build a membership, recruit and manage staff and volunteers, and run grassroots campaigns to promote clean energy, clean up our air and water, and preserve some of our nation's most beloved spaces. Bottom line: You'll make a real difference.

After just two years of hard work, you'll have the skills and experience that will set you apart from most recent college graduates, and you'll be prepared to take on even more leadership here at Environment America or elsewhere in the environmental community.

Qualifications

We are seeking recent college graduates who are ready to commit their time, skills and passion to grassroots political action on behalf of the environment. We look for smarts, academic excellence, creativity, top-notch written and verbal skills, and an eagerness to learn. We value leadership experience with campus and activist groups.

Placement

Fellowship candidates are hired nationwide and placed in Environment America offices across the country. During the interview process you can express your interest in one location, some locations, or all of our locations. In making placement decisions we will consider how best to match your location preference, experience, strengths and abilities with the campaigns we're running and the experienced staff in a particular office, city or state.

Position Starts:

This position starts at the national training in early August and continues though August 2014. Positions available immediately in other locations.

Salary and benefits

As a recent graduate, you'll earn $23,750 in your first year and $24,250 in your second year of the Fellowship. You're eligible to opt into our group health plan. You accrue two weeks of paid vacation over the course of your first year, and an additional three weeks in your second year. You're eligible to apply for college loan assistance after your third month, and to participate in our 401 (k) plan at the end of your first year. Salary and benefits vary in California and New York.

Penn Environment Fellowship - Philadelphia

Posted by: Work for Progress

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States

Organize to protect Western Pennsylvania's environment

If you're looking to make a meaningful, long-lasting impact on the environmental challenges facing the nation today, apply to be the PennEnvironment Western Pennsylvania Organizer. You can learn more here: www.pennenvironment.org/jobs.

You'll work to protect and preserve Pennsylvania's clean air, clean water and open spaces

From Pittsburgh's Three Rivers to Lake Erie, from Ohiopyle to the Allegheny National Forest, and all of the farms and open spaces in between, western Pennsylvania has its share of places we need to protect and preserve for years to come.

Yet western Pennsylvania's environment—as well as our environment across the state and nation—currently faces a variety of environmental challenges. Pennsylvania is at the center of a national debate about gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale, a practice that has serious implications for our waterways, open space and air quality. Our dependence on dirty coal makes Pennsylvania the third largest global warming polluting state in the nation, and is responsible for half of the state's residents living in communities where it's unsafe to breathe the air.

PennEnvironment's Western Pennsylvania Organizer will lead our efforts to win votes on our top priority campaigns and to work with our citizen members and activists to engage on these pressing environmental issues. Building off of PennEnvironment's network of tens-of-thousands of members and longstanding relationships in Harrisburg, you'll work with our expert staff to continue to build and mobilize powerful local constituencies to get behind your campaigns. You'll garner ongoing media attention to these important issues by organizing and speaking at news conferences, publishing op-eds, and meeting with reporters. You'll organize town hall meetings and rallies; lobby decision-makers; and run citizen outreach campaigns to educate the public, build membership and raise money for our work. You'll recruit interns, activists, and staff to work alongside you.

You'll work with one of the leading environmental groups in Pennsylvania

PennEnvironment is a statewide, citizen-based environmental advocacy group. Our professional staff combines citizen organizing with independent research, practical ideas and tough-minded advocacy to overcome the opposition of powerful special interests and win real results for Pennsylvania's environment. PennEnvironment draws on 30 years of success in tackling top environmental problems. We have led efforts to cut Pennsylvania's global warming pollution, minimize polluted runoff from developers, to improve the mileage of new cars and trucks, and much more. Learn more about the changes we've made at www.pennenvironment.org/results.

PennEnvironment is a part of the Environment America federation, a federation of 29 state-based environmental advocacy groups. Over the last decade, PennEnvironment staff have worked side-by-side with our most experienced advocates and organizers to make a real difference for the environment.

You'll get great training

You'll learn by participating in classroom-style trainings throughout the year. You'll also gain hands-on experience by working alongside some of the state and nation's top environmental advocates and organizers. With this combination of experiences, you'll have the skills and experience to take on even more leadership here at PennEnvironment or elsewhere in the Environment America federation or the broader environmental community.

Environmental Fellowship - Environment America

Posted by: Work for Progress

Washington, District of Columbia, United States

Director of Research & Knowledge

Posted by: Teach Plus

Boston, Massachusetts, United States

I. Overview of Teach Plus

Mission. The mission of Teach Plus is to improve the achievement of urban children by ensuring that a greater proportion of students have access to excellent, experienced teachers. Half of new teachers leave urban classrooms within three years, just as they are beginning to have the strongest impact on student learning. We give effective teachers a reason to stay. www.teachplus.org

Programs. Teach Plus runs three programs designed to place teacher leaders at the center of reform. These programs include: the Teaching Policy Fellows Program, the T+ Network and T3: Turnaround Teacher Teams. Our programs focus on demonstrably effective teachers in the second stage of their careers (in most cases, years 3 through 10) who want to continue classroom teaching, while also expanding their impact as leaders in their schools and in state and district policy.

Impact. Teach Plus has a track record of ensuring that teacher advocacy results in innovation in schools and districts. Our work has led to:

  • Improvements to local teachers' contracts,
  • New programming to increase high-need students' access to strong teachers,
  • Nationally significant, teacher-led reports, and
  • Greater media attention to the voice of the incoming generation of teachers.

In our second full school year of operations, we grew from sixteen founding teachers in Boston to a movement of 5,000 reform-minded teachers in six cities. We currently operate in Boston, Chicago, Indianapolis, Memphis, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C.

II. Responsibilities of Director of Research & Knowledge

The Director of Research & Knowledge will work closely with senior leaders in the organization, including the Founder & CEO, President, National Director of Programs, National Director of Policy, and National Director of the T3 Initiative. The individual will collaborate with these leaders to shape the knowledge capture and research agenda for Teach Plus. This agenda will focus on building Teach Plus' capacity for analyzing and sharing with the field what we have learned about identifying and training effective teachers and teacher leaders and building a robust, policy-relevant research agenda. Although the exact scope of the longer term research will evolve over time, the medium-term research of the Director of Research & Knowledge will fall into three categories:

  1. Enhancing our Partnerships with Districts. Work with our district partners to identify data to enhance internal work (such as recruitment and selection) and measure outcomes of teachers.
  2. Analyzing the Existing Teach Plus Database. Strengthen our research capacity by mining our own data and share findings nationally through presentations and publications.
  3. Conducting New Research to Advance the Teaching Profession. Expand our ability to collect data on teachers beyond our current work. Develop the research agenda for Teach Plus.

The Director of Research & Knowledge will be responsible for:

  • Charting the research agenda for Teach Plus, both research to be used for internal organizational improvement and research to be shared with the larger education reform community;
  • Ensuring that our research agenda yields tangible outcomes that are of value to Teach Plus and the future of the teaching profession;
  • Establishing strong relationships and effective partnerships between Teach Plus and partner organizations like national consulting firms, universities, and policy think tanks, as well as state education research departments, among others;
  • Working closely with members of the senior leadership team to coordinate across programs and program areas to maximize learning and continually sharpen the direction of the organization;
  • Building learning connections across sites to support – when appropriate – Teach Plus expanding from a site-based movement of reform-minded teachers to a national movement with clear connections across sites;
  • Serving as a research spokesperson for the organization in both national and local venues by attending and presenting at conferences and publishing.

  • A results‐oriented, goal‐driven, collaborative approach to work;

Environmental Fellowship - Environment Illinois

Posted by: Work for Progress

Chicago, Illinois, United States
