Spanish Website Coordinator

UNICEF NYHQ-Division of Communications is in need of a Spanish Website Coordinator who will be responsible for the maintenance of the UNICEF global site in Spanish and creation of any other products to be used on the site that have a Spanish language component or version. This person will post translated content on the Spanish web site and he or she will also maintain Spanish content, the homepage and will make daily updates to the Spanish web site.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily updates to Spanish web site including modules dealing with the MTSP (Young child survival and development, Basic education and gender equality, HIV/AIDS and children, Child protection from violence, exploitation and abuse, and Policy advocacy and partnerships for children's rights)
  • Utilize Content Management System (RedDot); Translation Editor to post new content, and edit and maintain of Home Page to UNICEF specifications
  • Translation support for other IBIS teams
  • Identify stories and content that would be relevant for Spanish speaking audiences.
  • Provide quality control of Spanish products (outsourced materials, videos, multimedia, etc)
  • Respond in a timely fashion to inquiries done through the language web sites via email
  • May be asked to work on weekends; May be required to travel.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications or specialized knowledge/ experience required:

  • Fluent in Spanish, have a good management of English and good translation skills.
  • Proficient in all aspects of web page production (knowledge of HTML), including image optimization for the web using Adobe Photoshop, and content management experience is an asset.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated; able to work efficiently under tight deadlines, and possess good communication skills.
  • Web and graphic design experience are a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Verbal communication skills; proficiency in preparing understandable technical documentation; ability to follow written and verbal instructions

The Agenda Project is hiring a full time Director of Operations to work in our New York City offices. The Director of Operations is responsible for ensuring the performance of organizational operations through effective methods and strategies.

Candidates must have relevant experience and be ready to work at the fast-paced metabolism of national politics. A solid grasp of contemporary US politics and a familiarity with the mission of The Agenda Project are each a must.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
-Handling outside vendors such as security, telephone, and tech support companies
-Supervising payroll procedures and liaising with our payroll representative
-Ensuring the organization meets state and federal insurance, workers compensation/unemployment guidelines
-Directing the fiscal year audit, and liaising with outside consultants and agencies
-Keeping track of accounts receivables and accounts payables; all purchases made on all the company credit cards; approving expense reports for employees
-Working closely with our bookkeeper in monitoring financial information and reporting to the President on the financial integrity of the organization
-Organizing recruitment and placement of part-time and full-time staff. Establish part-time work schedules. Delegate tasks and responsibilities. Monitor and evaluate performance
-Implementing organizational policies and procedures; monitoring adherence to rules, regulations and procedures
-Assisting in the development of operational plans for strategic activities

Qualifications
-Bachelors degree a must!
-1-3 years experience
-Knowledge of Quickbooks and other relevant accounting software
-Demonstrable knowledge of and interest in progressive policy issues
-Excellent writing and communication skills
-Critical thinking and relationship-building skills
-Must be highly organized and pay excellent attention to detail
-Must be highly motivated and enjoy working in a fast-paced, idea-driven environment
-Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
-Must be self-motivated and results-oriented

Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 commensurate with experience, health insurance coverage (The Agenda Project pays 100% of premium), 401(k), paid vacation separate from holiday breaks.

TASKS:

  • Coordinate all Neighbor to Neighbor programs and volunteer and member requests
    • The connection- check in calls and grocery buddies
    • One time errand requests
    • Regular Visits
    • Check in calls and Office Help
    • Community Service offerings
  • Work with the Volunteer Committee to implement all of these activities
  • Develop volunteer trainings and recognition events
  • Implement an online system for volunteer sign-ups- train people
  • Recruit Volunteer Coordinators for individual programs
  • Update Volunteer Handbook
